Another threat to our security?

Hi All,

We learn that there was almost another bombing in London today. With the reminesence of the bombing that London suffered only a short time ago, we still feel the threat of terrorism in our daily lives.
How long do we have to live like this? How long do people have to wait before they feel safe to take a tube of bus in London? How long till we can truly have peace again?

The truth is, that people will always want to hurt, kill and be evil to other people. As long as greed and evil are in this world the threat will never be removed.

God Bless

Robin Galloway?

Cement anyone?

I thought I had a phone call from Robin Galloway (Real Radio) this morning! To give you a bit of background knowledge, I work as a Business Analyst for an IT company in East Kilbride. Robin Galloway is a radio present who also does wind up calls.

This morning I receive a phone call the goes something like this:

G - Good Morning, SAIC, Gordon speaking

Caller - Hey, hello I was wondering if my delivery has been sent yet?

G - Eh, delivery. Hmm hold on I’ll ask one of the guys. Two seconds.

I go to my colleagues, "Hey guys, I’ve got a lad on the phone wanting to know if his delivery has been sent yet??!?" My colleagues reply "what kind of delivery?" So I went back to the phone:

G - Hi, what were kind of delivery is it?

C - 20 tons of cement!

G - What?

C - 20 tons of cement!

G - You serious?! You do realise we are an IT consultancy.

C - Ohh, eh sorry mate. Wrong number.

If you hear a rather confused guy on Real Radio tomorrow then you know it's me!!

Paris Hilton MK2

Hey Everyone,

Now guy's, don't get to excited!! Remember this is the new Paris Hilton!!

As a Christian, I obvious won't judge Ms. Hilton but i think in the public eye she has a lot to prove. Paris has been "forced" to serve her sentence in Prison. Thank goodness that finally a judge has seen sense to look past the celebrity status and finical power and sentence someone in her position in prison.

Paris now states that she "is going to follow all the laws" and is going to drop all the bad people from her life. She also spent a lot of time reading the bible.

Wouldn't it be great if everyone could do these things? If we all read our bibles and lived life by all the laws. I pray that God will help Paris keep to these promises that she has made to herself, and I hope, to God also.

I need to run as I have band practice tonight!!

God Bless,

Gordon

Football

Hello Everyone!!

As much as i am a football fan ('mon the well!!), I just cannot believe the money that is involved in the game now a days! Remember the good old days? The days when football was about home grown talent, about enjoyment, about friendly fair competitiveness! They day's are long gone and have been replaced with corruption, greed and gambling. Funnily enough, two of them are sins and the other is a major aspect of social degradation.

For instance, Thierry Henry has transferred from Arsenal to Barcelona for £16.1 million. That's £16,100,000. Actually, here's a better way of putting it. That money could have provided 1,610,000 families with clean, safe water for life. The Salvation Army's Watershed can provide families all around the world a better life. Surely that's a better place to be putting your money.

I got a letter in this morning and enclosed was tickets to see Rob Bell in Glasgow on Saturday. "Calling the peacemakers". I cannot wait! It's going to be a fantastic event. If you haven’t seen any of Rob Bell's stuff, check out my Bebo page on my links. The video is of Rob.

I will be blogging later; however I have a notion to watch Ghostbusters II!

Choral Shield

Evening All,

I had a great night watching the Choral Sheild. Tonights performances were:

Colville "When there are boys and girls there's bound to be a fight! It's the battle of the sexes in Colville tonight!"

The show was very good. Very strong points were the opener, girls song, boys song and ensemble. The set design was also very good.

Barclay - "Dance to the rythem, dance to the beat, Barclay can't control their feet"

Another strong performance this year from Barclay. Their Medley, Blame it on the boogie, Hand Jive and Dancing Queen were all excepitional.

Greig - "What a blast, what a scream. Come join Greig in their All-American dream!"

Tried very hard. Good points were the duet and solo.

A great night and good luck to all for tomorrow night.

C'mon Colville!

My First Blog

Hi Everyone,

I'm kind of nervous about my first blog! Don't know if that's silly or not!

I think the main reason I have decided to start blogging is because of all the amazing and inspiring blogs i see on a daily basis here. I can't wait to make new friends and contacts through my blogging.

Tonight I am going to the Motherwell Civic Centre to watch Dalziel High School's annual Choral Shield. When I was at Dalziel I was in three of them and I was captain in one of them so i know what they are all going through. My prayers are with them all as they go on stage and hope they all enjoy the expierience.

I booked tickets to go and see Rob Bell on Saturday evening. My good friends Jon and Lorna reccommended that both Fiona and myself join them at the event and after researching some of his work, i cannot wait to go now.

I was fortunate enough to spend some time with my dad, my brother Graeme, his girlfriends Lynn and my wonderful fiance Fiona in Loch Lomond last weekend. We had a great time and stopped off at this beautiful Ardlui Hotel for dinner. These are the memories that you never forget.

I'll be blogging later, hopefully with some pictures from tonights show.

God Bless,

Gordon
